Our Secretary-General

 

Rev. Joyce Liechenstein, Ph.D. OUnI, is the current Secretary-General of the Order of Universal Interfaith. She is the Associate Director of One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, has a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from New York Theological Seminary, a PhD in Therapeutic Counseling and many years of study at the National Psychological Association for Analysis. She has 40 years experience as a minister and director of religious education, and over 27 years as an executive in all phases of Human Rights work for the City of New York. Joyce has a private counseling and supervision practice and brings a rich background to OUnI, having served culturally diverse populations, including city workers impacted by the trauma of September 11th. Joyce is a Chaplain for the City of New York and served in the American Red Cross, September 11th Recovery Program. She spent 18 years as Dean and Associate Director of The New Seminary.

Rev. Liechenstein is serving her first two-year elected term in this administrative position.

 

History of the Position of the Secretary General of The Order of Universal Interfaith:

Rev. Jean A. Leone RN MS OUnI (Secretary Emeritus)   Serving: January 2009-December 2011 

Rev. Jean A. Leone RN MS OUnI, has held a multitude of Senior Level Positions in the Healthcare Arena, and is licensed as a CALA by the Department of Health and Senior Services. She is a Disaster Chaplain and part of the response team for Disaster Chaplaincy Services in NY and NJ. She presently is the lead consultant for Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, and has joined Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences as faculty in the Nursing Program. Her passion is for the implementation of a unified model of "interfaith-interspiritual pastoral care" training.
